Nepal – The Himlayan State
On the southern side of the central Himalaya – between India and Tibet – is the kingdom of Nepal situated. Its area compares to the size of Switzerland and Austria combined. The capital is Kathmandu and is located at an altitude of 1300m. Nepal counts 20 Million inhabitants, composed of 50 different ethnical groups. According to statistics 85% of Nepals population are Hindu and 10% Buddhist. The rest is a mixture of Muslime, Christ or other natur religions.
